Local Roundup: Man hospitalized following crash

DANVILLE — A local resident was hospitalized following a motorcycle accident Tuesday night.

Joshua Loschen, 26, of rural Danville was taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in serious condition following the crash at 10:13 p.m. Monday. He was later transferred to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Capt. Dennis Wood of the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department said the accident took place along U.S. Route 150 near County Road 680E. A witness told deputies just prior to the accident that Loschen passed his vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Loschen then attempted to maneuver through a set of curves when his motorcycle left the roadway.

He was issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving without insurance and DUI.

Wednesday, 7:57 a.m. — At802 N. Hazel St. involving Patricia Rapp, no age listed, of the 200 block of English Street, and Cameron Lindsey, no age listed, of the 1700 block of North Gilbert Street. Rapp was cited for failure to yield while Lindsey was cited for driving without insurance.

Wednesday, 4:01 p.m. — At Fairchild and Jackson streets involving Whitney Marshall, 17, of Penfield, and Leon Sellers, 64, of Danville. Marshall was cited for improper lane usage.

Wednesday, 6:07 p.m. — At Main and Gilbert streets involving Cassandra Crawley, 17, of the 200 block of Poland Road, and Donald Leirhart, 50, of Paris. Crawley was cited for failure to yield.
