DANVILLE — Two days of intermittent rains have shut down boating along the Middle Fork River again.
For the last few weeks, the section of river from the north boundary of the Middlefork Fish and Wildlife Area to the south boundary of Kickapoo State Park has been stints of closure because of rising river levels for periods of a few days.
Ted Fisher, director of the Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency, announced on Tuesday that the river has been closed by the state to the boating public until further notice because of current river conditions making the waters significantly dangerous.
