North Vermillion keeps fees the same

STAFF REPORT

CAYUGA, Ind. The North Vermillion School Board decided to keep driver education fees the same.

They are $325 for in-district students and $425 for out-of-district students.

In other business, board members:

-- Learned that Rhonda Robbins received an $8,000 Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship Grant to study the Present Tucker automobile within her business classes.

-- Approved volunteer coaches for softball, Ardie Kilgore Jr., and baseball, Robert Harrison and Robbie Ketcherside.

-- Approved the resignation of Kim Clarey as middle school cross country coach.

CHRISMAN

School board sees demonstration


The Chrisman School Board saw a SmartBoard presentation by Cindy Garwood, second-grade teacher.

In other business, board members:

-- Authorized the purchase of up to 35 McDougal Little Algebra I and Algebra II textbooks.

-- Authorized an honorable non-renewal of the teaching contract of Debra Hess.

-- Accepted the resignation of Jennifer Lyne at the end of the school year and the “intent to retire” from Beverly Parish at the end of the 2011-12 school year.

-- Hired Tami Frailey as part-time guidance counselor and part-time grade school art aide for next year.

-- Set the annual facilities walk-through for 5 p.m. April 7.

RIDGE FARM

Village board donates to museum


The village board donated $200 to the Ridge Farm Heritage Museum.

The personnel committee is reviewing applications for a public works maintenance/laborer employee.

The North Vermillion School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. EDT April 20 in the superintendent’s office.
