Police Roundup: Blaze engulfs rural home

DANVILLE — At least three rural fire departments responded to a large house fire on Monday.
The fire was reported in a two-story home at 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Clingan Lane and County Road 1750E, southeast of Westville
Westville fire fighters responded to the scene as well as trucks called in from Lynch and Ridge Farm fire protection districts. Tilton fire fighters were on standby during the blaze.
The house was leveled as a result of the blaze.

Theft reported in the 600 block of Dearborn Street.
Theft in the 700 block of West Oak Street.
Domestic battery in the first block of Cronkhite Avenue.
In-dash CD player stolen from vehicle in the 1200 block of Cleary Avenue.
Burglary to residence in the first block of Lake Street.
Man arrested for obstructing justice in the 2100 block of North Jackson Street.
Burglary to vehicle in the first block of Grace Street.
Monday:
One woman arrested for DUI and one woman arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at the intersection of Texas Avenue and Bliesath Street.
1990 Chevrolet pickup stolen in the 500 block of Lawndale Drive.
Disorderly conduct in the 500 block of Lawndale Drive.
Vermilion County
Sunday:
Domestic disturbance in the 20500 block of Poland Road.
Firefighters responded to the following calls:
Sunday, 3:57-4:40 p.m. — Power lines reported down near Seminary and Union streets.
Sunday, 7:13-7:44 p.m. — An alarm activation at 3363 N. Vermilion St.
Sunday, 9:19-9:40 p.m. — A medical call along Bismark Street.
Monday, 1:15-1:39 a.m. — A medical call in the 1200 block of Griggs Street.
