A bird flies Monday across the over-flowing Vermilion River near the Red Bridge on Grape Creek Road. The river peaked at 21.56 feet early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The flood stage is 18 feet. By early today, the river was down to 12.5 feet.
