Don’t let dogs run loose

DANVILLE — Editor:

No leash law? I am a Danville resident on Batestown Road.

Someone in our area allows their dogs to run loose.

The dogs come to our house and torment our dogs. They also relieve themselves in our yard.

These dogs chase anything and everything.

I have witnessed them jump on a jogger.

I have witnessed an elderly man on a bicycle being chased by them. Walkers are chased and barked at. Children getting on the school bus are barked at.

I have had animal control out twice. I am told that with no leash law there is nothing that can be done until someone is hurt.

People need to be responsible for their pets. There is no enforcement available. I encourage anyone tormented by dogs to call animal control. Maybe if there are enough incidents reported something will finally be done.
