A welfare state

Editor:

Amen to Lynn McLinden’s recent letter to the editor. President Obama’s leadership is leading our country right into a welfare state. As the figures show, 49 percent of our population now draw a government check of some kind.

I recently purchased some groceries and was behind a lady with a cart full of groceries and after check out she presented the clerk with an Illinois Link card that would not cover the amount of the purchase. So she got out another Link card to take care of the balance. I also observed this lady smoking after leaving the store and getting into a late model car. I have also heard from law enforcement friends that people sell their Link cards for money to buy alcohol.

I feel the same as Lynn McLinden in that I feel increasingly helpless the way Obama is transforming our country into a welfare state. I feel that Obama Care will come to a tragic end as the Washington lawmakers are now wanting to keep their insurance and do not want any part of Obama care.

God Bless our great country and return it to responsible and frugal leadership.
