I am against the idea of a roundabout at the intersection of Jackson and Voorhees streets in Danville.
The problems of congestion will end as the Fairchild bridge opens. All of the detoured traffic will go back to normal and, with no train traffic, Fairchild will be the preferred route.
Since no one here has used a roundabout, the risk of increased accidents will be a very real result. Past changes of traffic flow, removal of stop signs, turning one-way streets into two-way streets have done nothing to help the city except waste hundreds of thousands of tax dollars and create a post office where parking is a disaster.
I have had two cars totaled because of people who were not used to signs being changed and drove through signs and into me, with me ending in the emergency room.
Please, just improve the intersection and leave the four-way stop in place.
