Great care at VA site
The Department of Veterans Affairs care facilities and hospitals of Danville and Indianapolis do an excellent job of caring for their patients.
In recent publications of some newspapers, the VA treatment facilities around the country are being highly criticized for lack of care to their patients and inaccurate appointment and record keeping. As a patient of the VA care facilities and hospitals in both Danville and Indianapolis, I have found during the past 12 years that the care and the courteousness of these facilities are excellent. The waiting time is far less than any other facility where I have been treated. That also goes for the treatment of other people I have taken to the hospital.
The doctors, nurses, assistants, office staff, janitorial staff and outdoor maintenance staff all do an excellent job! In my recent trip to Indianapolis for some outpatient care, I was treated by two doctors, two nurses, a receptionist and other assistants. The care I was given could not have been any better.
The people in the hospitals who work so hard to please the veterans, in my opinion, are being unfairly criticized.
Veterans are good, caring people. They have served their country and are good Americans. Therefore, as veterans, the next time you are treated at the Danville facility or Indianapolis facility, please let the employees know that you appreciate the good service you are receiving. As we veterans know, there are always a few complainers.
Inspired by ‘Les Miserables’
Every now and then, you see something that makes you appreciate your town. This happened to my husband and me recently as we were blown away by the DLO Musical Theater/Danville Area Community College production of “Les Miserables.”
Everyone involved deserves kudos for not just handling this sophisticated show, but relishing its presentation. The camaraderie of the cast was obvious. The orchestra was right-on, playing the complex music almost continuously. The minimal scenery was artful, and worked well.
