Hearts & darts

Here are some of the good things readers noticed around the area recently:

Members of the Bismarck-Henning Music Boosters send hearts “to all of our generous friends who sponsored signs and donated items to our mini-golf tournament. Without such giving people and businesses, our event wouldn’t have been such a success.

“Also, hearts to: Illini Skateland for hosting our event; and to our hole sponsors — Sunset Funeral Home, Andi Mae’s Ice Cream, Aqua Illinois, ATA Martial Arts, County Market, Danville Area Community College, Danville Polyclinic, Dines Machine and Manufacturing, Downing Construction, 1st Choice Realty and Mary Clark, Landmark Credit Union, Owens Excavating, Rent-A-Center, Ribbe Trucking, State Farm Insurance and Jenna Wirth, and TLC Cleaning.

“Hearts to our friends who donated prizes for hole-in-one putts — Alexander’s Steakhouse, Apparel Unlimited, B&J Music, Beef House, Berry’s Garden Center, Buffalo Wild Wings, Big R of Danville, Big R Rental, Culver’s, Custard Cup, Dairy Queen, David S. Palmer Arena, Danville Dans, Danville Gardens, Domino’s Pizza, Family Video, First Financial Bank of Danville, 1st Illinois Credit Union, Harrison Park Golf Course, Hooters of Champaign, Illinois Express Eyecare, Jocko’s Pizza, Lee’s Famous Recipe, Lincoln Lanes, Little Caesar’s Pizza, Little Nugget, Mach 1 on Gilbert Street, McDonald’s, Meijer of Danville, Mike’s Grill, Monical’s Pizza, Montana Mike’s, New Horizon Credit Union, Olive Garden, Pet Supplies Plus, Quaker of Danville, Red Lobster, Royal Donut, Schroeder’s Drive-in, Shirley Marie Catering, Starbucks of Champaign, Studio 31, Subway on Gilbert Street, Texas Roadhouse, Turtle Run, Watson Tire, Wright’s Heating and Cooling, and YMCA of Danville.

“Thanks so much to the volunteers. It takes volunteers to make fundraisers successful. Once again, the children and the families of the music program came through and did a wonderful job. We hope we can always count on you to help in the future. Special thanks to our families.

“I apologize to any donors we might have missed. If we did forget you, please contact 799-9575 so we can correct the mistake.
