Hearts and darts

DANVILLE — Here are some of the good things readers noticed around the area recently:

Shirley Butcher of Danville sends hearts “to the Danville Care Therapy Department.

“I had arthritis, and the Therapy Department helped me.

“I feel much better.

“Thanks go out to Rodger and the rest of the crew.”

Jeremy and Becky Claypool of Covington, Ind., as well as their families, send hearts “to all the businesses, church and civic groups, friends and family in the Illiana area who have donated their time, support and gifts for medical expenses and silent auction since our son Ian Claypool’s cancer diagnosis.

“We would like to thank the following businesses and people for their generous donations given for Ian’s recent spaghetti dinner benefit on June 8: Dillman Eye Care, Premier Anesthesia Associates, ACCESS Surgery Center employees, Presence Health physicians, Carle Clinic physicians, Mervis Industries employees, Courtesy Ford, Iron Tide Tattoo Gallery, Gem City Tire, Leffler Tire, Covington County Market, Powell’s Ace Hardware and Vickerys Hilltop Restaurant.

“Two more benefits are planned to help with Ian’s medical expenses: A square dance and silent auction will be July 28 in Clarks Hill, Ind. It will begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT. The caller is John Holman. There will be food as well as silent auction items.

“Also, the Wabash Valley Steam and Gas club will have a benefit tractor drive starting in Covington, Ind., on Sept. 14.

“Additionally, a benefit account has been set up for Ian and donations can be made at any Old National facility and deposited into the ‘Ian Claypool Benefit Account.’”
