Sportsmanship on display
I keep hearing about how negative youth sports has become, but want to tell you about an experience we had recently at the Legion Post 210 baseball diamond.
A Little League fall ball game was being played by the Homer Heritage Hawks team and the Danville NAPA team.
One of the Homer pitchers hit a Danville NAPA player with a pitch. As soon as the player took his base, the pitcher walked to first base, apologized to him and shook his hand.
What sportsmanship demonstrated by some fine young players!
Maybe our Major League players should go back to their roots and take a lesson from some great up-and-coming young players on how the game should be played.
