Back to unity of purpose

---- — Back to unity of purpose

Editor:

I want to say the United States is becoming a set-up.

For all my 80 years we have fought one war or another. I say take the colors away from the media and our leaders.

Quit making red lines. Quit making blue states and red states.

Quit saying white America, black America, the North, the South!

We are the United States of America, “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

I say, let the U.N. do the policing of the world — that should not be our job.

When I married my husband, I had been single and responsible for doing pretty much what I wanted to. But when I got married, I had to realize that there can only be one leader of a household, so if I wanted peace, I had to give up a lot of my ways. He, on the other hand, if he wanted peace and harmony, had to realize that he would have to lead with a kind, loving hand.

In other words, I know many marriages break up because it’s hard to do. But it can be done through prayer and hard work and lots of love and trust.

I don’t know who said this, but the saying still holds true today: “A house divided by itself cannot stand.”

We better get back to unity of purpose before it’s too late.
