As political campaign season comes to a close and Election Day draws near, I find it is difficult to sift through rhetoric and promises to find candidates who are most competent and most qualified.
Luckily for Vermilion County, in the race for recorder of deeds there is one unquestionably qualified and dedicated candidate in the race: Tom O’Shaughnessy.
I worked closely with Tom for five years as his associate at the law firm of Acton & Snyder, LLP, and I’m writing today because I feel strongly about Tom’s qualifications for recorder.
Tom and I worked together almost exclusively on property-related matters, and the depth of his knowledge on those issues is without question. From mortgages, to property-line disputes, to complicated trust provisions, to commercial and residential property transactions, Tom demonstrated not only expert knowledge, intense curiosity, and an interest in just outcomes, but a more-than-full-time dedication to a job done right.
In addition to his fundamental knowledge of the laws which regulate property, Tom also has the skills needed to ensure that the Vermilion County recorder of deeds office is technologically modern, well managed, and customer friendly.
Tom is a dedicated public servant who will be a dedicated, competent, and qualified recorder of deeds, and he deserves your vote on Election Day.
