---- — Concerns as a Democrat
In response to the Michael Clary and Thomas Fahey letters to the editor, I would like to clarify a few things as a Democrat regarding their endorsements.
I would like to first point out that neither of them had judicial experience prior to becoming elected, and they went on to become judges.
I would take the opposite viewpoint. I think our country needs a fresh and different approach to the difficulties our court system faces.
As a Democrat, I and other full-blooded Democrats are concerned and troubled that the candidate they are endorsing, Karen Wall, pulled a Republican ballot in the last primary she voted in and did not start attending Democratic Party meetings until deciding to run for judge.
Also, I think it is important to point out that there have been current and prior judges who have not always been at the top of the Bar Association poll or sometimes not even recommended for election or retention, but this did not make them unqualified. It is important as a voter to have all the information before heading to the polls.
