---- — Here are some of the good things readers noticed around the area recently:

The family of Ian Claypool of Covington, Ind., sends hearts “to everyone who has supported us during Ian’s illness. We would like to thank Bethany Bradfield and her family for coordinating a benefit fun run; Toni Stone and her office staff at State Farm Insurance for being a gold sponsor for the fun run and for dedicating an entire month to childhood cancer awareness month; Mike and Jeanne Roberts of Fairmount for their constant prayers, donations and emotional support; as well as Fairmount First Baptist Church for their continuing donations and prayers. We also extend our thanks for their donations of baby items during the birth the of our new son.

“We would like to thank all the businesses and people who donated to Ian’s Race. Your time and efforts warm our hearts and we sincerely thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.”

Members of the FFA Chapter at Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School send hearts “to the people for helping get or give gifts for the 60 families we had this year for the Christmas for Kids. It was a success!”

Nancy Allison, of Tilton sends “hearts to the mayor of Tilton, Dave Phillips, for all the help on our Tilton senior dinner. I really appreciate all the help.

“Hearts also to the Tilton Public Works crew — TJ and Doug and Blake and Nena. A very big heart goes to Monty Schroeder and his wife and crew for catering most of the dinner. We all love your cooking. Hearts to John Criswell and his family for cooking our turkeys on the grill, which we love so much. Hearts to all the board members and staff who always get our turkeys for the dinner; to Connie Weddle for making all the deviled eggs they love so much; to Jeanine Kingore for making all of those great noodles we love so much; to Kandi and Andy Dunavan for making our sugar-free pies and getting our sugar-free Cool Whip.

“Hearts to Dan and Gayle Teegarden and Arnie and Pauline Pratt for all the hard work on decorations; to Tiffany Jones and her son, friends and Nora Ross and all the others who helped serve the food; to Starla Islam and Sherrie and all who did our dishes; and to our Santa, who came and gave the seniors candy canes and to see if they had been good.
