Rauner's strategy Is a winner!

Joe Walsh and others are taking potshots at Bruce Rauner for missing a tightly manipulated media event in the north land. We have to give Bruce Rauner credit for managing a winning campaign strategy, appearing before voters in continual town hall meetings that bring him into contact with real people, not with the talking heads of the media outlets orchestrating events such as the one he is castigated for skipping by Mr. Walsh.

Don’t miss the fact that real people are supporting Mr. Rauner, more than all the other candidates combined. We agree he needs to get his views before the public, but Mr. Walsh and his media darlings may not be the best way to do that.

The forum skipped was not the first time all of the candidates were coming together; several meetings have occurred, despite what Mr. Walsh reported, and Rauner’s game plan may allow for just so many such events.

Any voter can see that Rauner has become the punching bag for all four candidates, and he is no doubt picking and choosing, wisely, we hope, when and how he exposes his flank to them. Four to one odds are formidable in bar fights, and in Chicago-style politics, as well.

Bully for Rauner! If Rauner does not win, you can kiss the Illinois economy goodbye, because it is clear to us that the other four candidates are all part of Illinois’ problems, not part of her solutions.
