Fire department needs help

Fire department needs help

Catlin Fire District needs more volunteers. Due to a lack of volunteers, Catlin Fire Department is often unable to respond to calls.

On Sept. 11 at 2 a.m., the department was called to assist me and never responded. Again on Dec. 5 at 11:30 a.m., it was called and was unable to respond.

Having been a member of Catlin Fire Department for more than 20 years, I know staffing can be a problem with people working out of town.

Thanks to my family and good friend Fred Reddy, who found me passed out from diabetic shock. Thanks to Medix ambulance for its prompt and professional help.

A very special thanks to my good neighbors Roger and Vicki Lange for their help and training, it is sure nice that she is a registered nurse and he is an emergency medical technician.

I appreciate so much those that helped me. Everyone is not as fortunate as I have been.

Please think about volunteering your time and service to our community.

Don Burgin

Retired assistant chief

Catlin
