It starts with courage, the courage to be honest about what is going on around you. The courage to respect the rights of others, not dismantle or remove them, because it is the easiest way to solve the problem. The courage to talk openly with understanding about our differences and the things that exist and perpetuate prejudice, understanding there always will be those who hate.
Do we have the courage to stand together and demand the laws of this land be upheld against anyone who breaks them, including — and maybe most of all — our elected officials. If this is to be a land of justice, freedom and liberty we must find the courage. I challenge all of you reading this to be Americans first, beyond ethnicities or political affiliations.
