Hoopeston senior meal site to open

DANVILLE — The CRIS Healthy-Aging Center has partnered with the Hoopeston Multi-Agency and Heritage Health of Hoopeston to offer seniors a meal site for lunch Tuesdays and Fridays at the Hoopeston Multi-Agency.

There will be a grand opening celebration at noon April 2, according to a press release.

The CRIS senior meal site will be located at the Hoopeston Multi-Agency Community room. Seniors, age 60 and older, can call the Hoopeston Multi-Agency at 283-5544 or CRIS at 443-2999 by noon on April 1 to reserve their meal.

Nutritious, hot lunches will be available to seniors in the Hoopeston area each Tuesday and Friday at noon at the Hoopeston Multi-Agency. Heritage Health of Hoopeston will cater all of the CRIS senior meals at the CRIS/Hoopeston Multi-Agency senior meal site.

The price for senior meals at the CRIS Hoopeston Multi-Agency meal site will be $2.75. Seniors wanting to eat lunch at the new meal site must call the Hoopeston Multi-Agency at 283-5544 one day prior to make their reservation.

Funding is provided by the East Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging and the Grant Township United Fund.

The CRIS/Hoopeston Multi-Agency meal site is one of six locations throughout Vermilion County where seniors can meet together and enjoy a good nutritious, healthy meal with other seniors for a reasonable price.

Other sites include the Tilton County Market serving breakfast; the Mainstream Cafe in Georgetown serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; the CRIS Center and the Laura Lee Fellowship House serving breakfast; and Provena United Samaritans Medical Center serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
