HOOPESTON — The Hoopeston Public Library’s “Paws to Read” program kicks off Monday with a special program, “Dr. Doolittle’s World of Paws” by ventriloquist and storyteller Chris McBrien. Two shows are scheduled: 10 a.m. for ages 3 through second grade and 1 p.m. for grades 3-6.The program is free, but tickets are required because of space limitations. Parents can pick up tickets in the library’s children’s room.
Activities run from July 8-28. “Paws to Read” program special guests include a local dog trainer, animal control officer, staff from the Museum of the Grand Prairie of Mahomet and more.
Every Wednesday will feature “Bark for Books,” a story and activity time with Terri Hambleton at 10:30 a.m. and the “Furry Film Festival,” a family movie at 2 p.m.
