Hoopeston Area school board members learned Thursday the district had received a grant of $49,000 from the state of Illinois to pay half the cost to replace water pipes under Maple Grade School.
"The grant," said Mark Eighner, transportation/buildings and grounds supervisor, "was a 50/50 match grant up to $50,000. We just need to get someone to replace the piping."
