Slate set for area’s April elections

HOOPESTON — Voters in the city’s Ward 2 will have a contest to determine their alderman, while the entire city has a choice for mayor during the April 9 election.

Incumbent Mayor Bill Crusinberry hopes to retain his seat. He is being challenged by Jeramy Dobkins.

Ward 2 Alderman Carl Ankenbrand is running for his seat against challenger Charles Strawser.

Offices with no races include:

City clerk Gail Lane and treasurer Edye Bookwalter also are running unopposed.

Hoopeston Area board

School Board Members coming up on the ballot in April are:

They all are running unopposed.

Bismarck

Five candidates are in the running for the three open four-year seats on the village board. The candidates are Julie I. Boersma, Terry L. Light, Mary K. Potter, Lawrence Lee High and Michael Pundt.

C. Ben White and Greg K. Lewis will face off for a two-year term as village president.

Potomac

Bernie McCarty of the People’s Progressive Party is running unopposed for village board president.

There are four candidates for the three seats on the board. They are: Jeff Edwards, Marguerite Bailey and Carolyn Haltiwinger, all representing the People’s Progressive Party, and independent Lucas Esteppe.
