Cancel fines with food

HOOPESTON — Patrons of the Hoopeston Public Library district can pay off their library fines and help a good cause through the "Food for Fines" drive.

During the month of December, the library will accept canned goods and non-perishable food items within their expiration dates along with packaged household paper products, in payment of library fines. Each item or package donated will be worth $1 toward the payment of library fines. Some single items or packages may not qualify.

Donations are good for overdue material fines only; they cannot go toward the cost of lost items or other library fees. All items will be donated to the Grant Township Food Cupboard. For details, call the library at 283-6711.
