It is definitely a small world after all, and Mr. Smith’s 8th hour World Geography class proves it all.
“This speaker is a part of the Latin America Unit,” said Mr. Smith. The speaker, Dr. Raul Mora, was Skyped from Colombia, a country located in South America between Ecuador and Venezuela.
The class asked questions, which varied from asking what Dr. Mora misses about America to comparing the education of American students to Colombian students.
Dr. Mora said, “Colombian students have to wear uniforms, which is different to American students, who typically all don’t wear uniforms.”
Dr. Mora also said, “I miss Illini basketball the most.” Which earned an “awww” from the class.
He loves basketball, but he also liked being back in Colombia and watching football — American soccer.
Dr. Mora also stated that Colombia is a very optimistic country and the people are very optimistic, even through very trying times.
