Vermilion County and much of central and southern Illinois is preparing for a major winter storm expected to hit the state Tuesday.
A winter storm watch was issued this morning for almost the entire state of Illinois. A blizzard watch was also issued today for an area including Iroquois and Ford counties and Benton County, Ind. The winter storm watch runs from Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon while the blizzard watch begins Tuesday afternoon and running through Wednesday afternoon.
Although exact locations for the snowfall are continually changing, the National Weather Service indicates the snow will begin Tuesday morning and increase, along with strong winds, during the afternoon hours.
