Jean Alice Lasser

LADY LAKE, Fla. — Jean Alice Lasser, 87, of Lady Lake, Fla., and formerly of Danville, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at her home.

Per her wishes, Jean was cremated, and the family has planned a visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, at Pape Memorial Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville. There will be a memorial service at the conclusion of visitation at 6 p.m., with Wayne Meyer officiating. Jean’s ashes will be laid to rest at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the Danville National Cemetery with her husband, Jerome.

Jean was born on Aug. 4, 1925, in Watseka to Clayton and Celeste Burch Jones.

She attended Sheldon Grade School and High School, graduating in 1944, and going on to attend business college. Jean enjoyed watching her soap operas and other television shows — 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. she was NOT to be disturbed — and spending time with her family and close friends.

Jean married Howard Humblet Sr., and from that union came three children, Shirley, Howard and Robert. She later married Jerome Lasser in 1994 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2002.

Jean leaves behind her two sons, Howard “Howie” (Billie) Humblet and Robert (Nancy) Humblet; two stepchildren, Linda (Ronald) Kukler and Suzanne Lasser; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome, and a daughter, Shirley Depatis.
