— Earl and Phyllis Benschneider of Allerton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 16, 2012.
Earl Benschneider and Phyllis Jiles were married Sept. 16, 1962, at the Leroy First United Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Clarence Young.
Earl has been a farmer all of his life, and retired in 1999. Phyllis worked as postmaster relief for the Allerton Post Office, retiring in 2005.
The couple has three children, Mark (Sherri) Benschneider of Danville, Mary (Rodney) Herrell of Bloomington and Paul Benschneider of Danville.
They have six grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Benschneider, Brooke Atwood, Arron (Katie), Heather and Cody Benschneider and two step-grandchildren, Stephen and Samantha Herrell. They also have five great-grandchildren, Coltin and Traitin Benschneider, Bree and Brajiah Rose and Braylee Atwood, and one step great-grandson, Bryson Poortmans.
