Lenny and Claudia Carpenter will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Gao Grotto in Danville. It’s hosted by their family and friends.
Lenny Carpenter and Claudia Swartz were married Feb. 29, 1964, at Bowman Avenue United Methodist Church in Danville with the Rev. George Emmons officiating.
Lenny is a retired tool and die maker from Furry, Inc., and Claudia is retired from County Market. Claudia still works part-time out of her home as a licensed cosmetologist.
They have two children, a son, Scott (Penney) Carpenter of Cayuga, Ind., and a daughter, Kim (Randy) Rutledge of Fithian. They also have six grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Carpenter of Perrysville, Ind., Tyler and Caleb Carpenter of Indianola, Jimmy Rutledge of Terre Haute, Ind., and Andy and Katie Rutledge of Fithian.
Lenny and Claudia celebrated with trips to both Panama and Arizona. ,
