Larry and Kay McConkey of Danville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Napa, Calif., the California coastline and Palm Springs.
Larry McConkey and Donna Kay Phillips were married Sept. 22, 1963, at the Four Square Church in Decatur by Larry’s great-uncle, K.V. McConkey.
Larry retired after 31 years as president of Worksource Enterprises (formerly, REHAB Products and Services) and several years in the fields of mental health and education. Kay was a stay-at-home mom for the children, returning to work as a registered nurse and retiring after 19 years with Carle Clinic in Danville.
The couple has three children: Scott (Betsy) of Avon, Ind.; daughter, Suzy Smalley of Bismarck with granddaughters, Sammy and Kayci; and son, Rob of Bismarck, with granddaughter, Ella, and grandsons, Avery and Eli.
