Jim and Eleanor (Ritter) Britton will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a card shower.
Jim and Eleanor were married Feb. 20, 1953, by the Rev. James Cornett.
Jim was employed as an electrician by IBEW Local Union 538. Eleanor was employed 17 years as a driver for Danville Township Transportation and her greatest role, a full-time homemaker.
The couple was blessed with five children, Brenda, Sondra, Jim Jr., Tamara and the late Teresa. They also have 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Together, they enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada, especially Phillips, Wis. (Reese’s Resort), while camping, fishing and hunting.
When asked how they made it 60 years, their reply: “We are from a generation that believes, if it’s broken, you fix it.”
