— Forest and Mary Peters of Hoopeston will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a barbecue with family and friends. The event is hosted by their family.
Forest Peters and Mary Sheets were married Aug. 3, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo.
Forest is a retired farmer. Mary is a retired office manager from Cook Business Forms.
The couple has three children, Jinnie (Don) Johnson of Aledo, Jon Peters of Victoria, Texas, and Joe Peters of Hoopeston.
The couple’s grandchildren are Jamie Newburg of Boone, Iowa, Jill (Nate) Baker of Downers Grove, Derek Johnson of Normal, Dan (Clodagle) Peters of Long Mont, Colo., Jeff Peters of Suffolk, Va., Judie (Bill) Summarell of Nashville, Tenn., and Jerod (Betsy) Peters of Rossville.
They also have nine great-grandchildren, Jackson and Benjamin Baker, Autumn Peters, Katlin, Ashley and Lindsey Summarell, and Jacob, Aubrey and Jadyn Peters.
